Campground Description

Edmonton's first woman architect, Mary Louise Imrie, donated this land to the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks, and Wildlife Foundation in 1988 with the condition that the land be used for public enjoyment. We currently offer 18 campsites serviced with electricity, a cook house, enclosed picnic shelter, a day-use area, a wildlife viewing blind overlooking neighboring Matchayaw (Devil's) Lake, and groomed trails for hikers and cross-country skiers.

Fantastic location for a group or family gathering.

Aug 30, 2023by Dianne Winter
We booked the entire park to celebrate our 50th anniversary. It is a lovely location (except for mosquitoes of course) and Kit and Lorne are great friends and hosts. This park is clean and well maintained. Given it is a smaller park, there are some options available here that you cannot get at other RV parks.

Great campground!

We always enjoy this campground. The hosts are great. We like the small size. Lots for kids to do, lots of trails for myself. Very neat and tidy , including the bathrooms. Love the movies, books in the common area.

Campground is a gem

The campground is a gem and we look forward to more visits. The hosts are amazing and made us feel very welcome. The campground and sites are well groomed and clean. Some of the trails still had some water on them (it's still early in the year) but they were well groomed. The playground is in great shape and we look forward to bringing our grandson next time. We liked the little touches like the library in the common building. One of our favorite Alberta campgrounds.

So peaceful

This park is one of the best kept secrets. The park host are such kind and friendly people. I messed up my reservation and the park Host Kit immediately looked after us. She was very friendly and keeps a close watch on the park. The park is very clean and well maintained. Thank you for accomadating us on short notice

Clean and quiet

Aug 29, 2022by Anonymous
the campground hosts and campground are clean and quiet. The checkout time is way to early. 11:00 am . Most other campgrounds is 2:00 pm I would recommend changing this to be consistent with other campgrounds.

Very welcoming hosts!

Love this spot for camping it’s my quiet place to recharge and the hosts are fantastic. Being a senior it’s nice to have a little hideaway like this. Thanks

Great for RVs, not so much for car-campers.

Aug 8, 2022by Ray R
For Car Campers: After an initial phase of hiking in Jasper, my buddy needed to make a detour to Edmonton to handle some personal matters. We were going to be arriving at the site late, but management (a husband and wife insofar as I can tell) was willing to allow us to check in at 10:30 PM. When we finally arrived, they were EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating. They gave us a thorough rundown on where everything was. The camp is primarily designed to accommodates RVers and isn't particularly well-suited for car-campers. There are no trees surrounding the sides of campgrounds, so there is very little privacy -- something I place a lot of value on in a campsite. Be aware that RVs may be running air-conditioners, dehumidifiers, or other noise-producing appliances throughout the night. This sound is capable of travelling throughout the entire campsite. Great if you need a place to stay overnight in a pinch, but I wouldn't make a weekend out of it. The fire wood was an excellent deal. Huge quantity for $5.00.

Lorne and Kit, the camp hosts are welcoming and accommodating. When I'd accidentally booked the wrong campsite for our stay, Kit was very helpful and changed us to the site I thought I'd booked (senior moment). The campground was neat and tidy and the outhouses clean and well stocked. I'll stay there again, in a heartbeat!!

Not the best campground but definitely not the worst

The price is very good and fairly clean. My biggest complaint would be new gravel on the sites so people know where their site is. We had a camper on 8 feet of our site(good thing we had extra cord).
