Love Minnie Lake

Jun 21, 2021by Erin Jubinville
One of the biggest reasons we love Minnie Lake is Chris, the caretaker. She takes such pride in keeping this campsite in beautiful condition, and her warm welcomes are always appreciated. We love camping and paddling at Minnie Lake as often as we can and would definitely recommend it, it’s a gem!

What a Gem

May 28, 2021by Femke Williams
We spent the May long weekend here, we were in site 5 and my sister and husband in site 4. The sites are huge and with power. All sites face the lake so we always had a great view and the sunsets were stunning. The sites have a bit of a slope but not much, the firepits are huge so we relieved when we found out the price of the firewood - $12 for a wheelbarrow full or $20 for a tailgate full! We really enjoyed it here and its close enough to Bonnyville and Glendon and other lakes for a site seeing trip or two. We will definitely be back! Thank you to Chris, the great manager on site, she is so friendly and easy to talk to and made our stay even more enjoyable!

Minnie Lake East is a beautiful little campground! We enjoyed our stay in sites 5 and 4 - all campsites face the lake which is amazing! The campground is nicely laid out and you always have a great view! Chris, the campground manager is so nice and easy to get along with, she came over to our site when we were setting up and let us know everything we needed to know. The area is great for driving around and checking out other lakes and Glendon and Bonnyville is not too far. We will be back soon! Thanks Chris for your hospitality and keeping everything so clean; the firewood is a great deal too!

Beautiful Campground

Small quiet campground (13 sites) all sites have a view of the lake. The sites were large and clean and the lake is relatively small, great for kayaking. Would definitely recommend.

Great family place

Campground and the beach is very well kept. Super clean bathroom and very friendly and helpful camp attendee. The addition of paddle boats and the volleyball court is great for large groups. The wood for sale was dry reasonable prices. We will definitely return.

M.D. CAMPGROUND REGULATIONS DURING COVID-19

As we move into the second stage of resuming business in Alberta, and in order to keep our campers and staff safe and healthy as possible during the global pandemic, there have been a number of changes to our campground regulations.

Following Alberta Health Services,  all Municipal District of Bonnyville owned/operated campgrounds will be implementing changes, this includes opening up tent sites, outhouses, fish cleaning stands, beaches, and day use areas. Playgrounds are open for use, however not sanitized. All of these facilities are “use at your own risk”. Outhouses will be sanitized or cleaned as per provincial guidelines.

Campers will be responsible for their own water and sewer services. Our caretakers will have a list of contractors who will be able to fill up your water tanks and pump out your grey water.

  • If you aren’t feeling well, please stay home.
  • Campers are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer.
  • Site-to-site visits are discouraged, unless the site is occupied by immediate family members or cohort family as recommended by the Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health.
  • M.D. firewood sales will be available. Only credit or debit will be accepted as payment.
  • M.D. campgrounds will not be accepting cash or cheques until further notice.

As always, it is up to you, our visitors, to camp responsibly during this time of COVID-19. You must maintain a social distance of at least six feet at all times, including when gathering outside in groups larger than 10 people. Please remember to wash or sanitize your hands frequently.

The above are based on provincial guidelines, and the M.D. appreciates the cooperation of our campers in following these regulations. Failure to do so, could result in your expulsion from the campground.

Updates to these regulations will be communicated through our website and our Facebook page.
