Campground Description

Enjoy fully serviced lots offering 30 amp services. Two sites offer full service with 50 amp power. Located by River Park, the campground offers a play ground, Washrooms with coin operated showers as well as coin operated laundry.

Local Attractions

Keven Thompson Memorial Campground is located just a short trip from the boat launch on the Souris River. The campground sits beside the local ball diamonds with open green space to enjoy. Located in the Town of Melita is the Melita Aquatic Centre with new changerooms and showers. The pool features a "Beach Style" entrance, water slides and wading pool for the little's. If you enjoy golfing, Townsend Valley Golf Course offers a challenging 9 hole, natural green course that will test your skills, and leave a lasting memory. The Town of Melita also features a full service grocery store, convenience stores and gas stations , plenty of downtown shopping, a renovated Theatre and a bowling alley. Try the walking trails at the Mallaher Wildlife Sanctuary.

Campground Rules and Regulations

Cancellations-

There are no refunds for inclement weather, late arrivals, or early departures. 

You can cancel your reservation and collect a full refund, less the $5.00 registration fee if you cancel 48 hrs or more before your arrival date.  If your cancellation occurs 47 hours or less before your arrival date, your fees will be refunded except for the first night’s camping fee.  Remember, if you don’t cancel your reservation or do not show up, all fees are forfeited.

Requests for refunds for leaving your stay will be considered for medical reasons and must be in writing to the Town of Melita.

Any foul and/or abusive language or threatening behavior towards our staff or other campers WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! Violation of this WILL result in expulsion from the campground.

  • Check in time will be 3:00PM, Check out time: 1:00PM. If you are late leaving without prior arrangement, you will be charged for an additional night.
  • Quiet time 11:00PM – 7:00AM.
  • Consumption of alcohol out in the open is prohibited. Liquor is prohibited on roads, in washrooms, ball diamonds, boat launch, playground and other public areas. Public drunkenness and rowdiness will not be tolerated and will result in police action and immediate eviction.
  • Smoking is prohibited in the washroom facility.
  • Campsites are only guaranteed for camping nights that are paid for. Campground fees cannot be refunded unless staff is given 48 hours’ notice of a cancellation.
  • Liquid and solid waste must be disposed of in receptacles provided. Pouring waste water on open ground or in sump holes dug beneath trailers is prohibited. A sewer dump station is available for your use.
  • No children under 18 years may camp in a trailer by themselves. Parents are responsible for their children and any damages they may cause.
  • Pets must be tethered at all times. Leashes cannot exceed the campsite perimeter. In the case of a conflict between a pet and a person, the person will be given the benefit of doubt. Pet owners may be asked to remove their pet from the grounds. Owners MUST clean up after their pets.
  • Only 2 vehicles per site. All vehicles must be parked on designated gravel areas or in parking spaces. All vehicles must be operable and licensed. Speed limit in the campground is 10km/h.
  • Only one camper or RV and one tent OR two tents per site are allowed (maximum of 2 units per site).
  • Unsightly sites will not be tolerated. Please keep your site clean and free of garbage. Garbage cans are available throughout the campground for your convenience, PLEASE DO NOT LITTER.
  • Do not damage, cut, or remove trees or bushes from the campsites. Any damage done is an offence and can be charged.
  • Do not use fireworks, sparklers, or caps at the campsite.
  • Obey restrictions on fires. Fires may be limited or prohibited at certain times.
  • Build fires only in fire rings provided for that purpose. Firewood must be small enough to fit inside the fire ring. Do not put garbage in fire pits. Do not start fires with gasoline or camping fuel. Keep flammable materials away from campfires. Be sure your campfire is completely extinguished before leaving your site or going to sleep at night. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING FIRES UNDER CONTROL

PLEASE CLEAN UP ANY GARBAGE ON YOUR SITE & CLEAN OUT FIREPITS BEFORE LEAVING.
