Campground Description

The Valley Regional Park is one of Saskatchewan's most popular Regional Parks. Situated in the heart of the Valley area it was voted as the top Regional Park to visit in the Prairies North Magazine reader's poll in 2009. Young and old alike, will find this Family Orientated Park an excellent place to stay for an afternoon, a day, or a week. The park has always been lauded for its beautifully landscaped grounds. Children and families will love the large green space, creative playground and picnic areas which includes a 100' long Zip Line, 80' slide, toddlers corner, and numerous toys. The Town of Rosthern only 1 km away has a swimming pool for the whole family to enjoy on those hot Saskatchewan summer days. The Campground consists of 79 total campsites. Most of the sites are electrical, well treed, level and made large enough for the new trailers. The campground includes a modern washroom facility, potable drinking water, sewer dump, and bundled firewood. Visitors are not allowed to bring in their own firewood. The Town of Rosthern, located approximately 1km South of the park, provides a full range of services and shopping facilities to its residents and many tourists that visit the area each year. The ever-popular Farmers Market also runs every Friday throughout the summer months.

Local Attractions

Your stay would not be complete if you did not visit the numerous tourist attractions and Historic Sites nearby. The Station Arts Theater in Rosthern provides a unique cultural experience with the main Attraction always being the very popular Summer Theater Productions. Also located nearby is the Seager Wheeler Farm where Dr. Seager Wheeler grew wheat that won five world championships, an unprecedented feat in the history of Western Canada. Also located within 20 minutes of the park is the Batoche National Historic Site and Fort Carlton, which were the main areas where the Riel Rebellion of 1885 was fought.

WE ENJOYED OUR STAY

Aug 21, 2023by Doug Giordano
We enjoyed our site and stay bathrooms clean. and campground was quiet. i would have given higher stars but 20 a small bag of fire wood to me is costly we went thru 80 dollars worth in 24 hrs and having an rv no way to go all the way back to gate to get more either without packing up

Needs some attention

Aug 5, 2023by Lynden Peters
Many dead branches hanging overhead could be dangerous with a high wind as well as backing into our campsite there were dead branches that could scratch the trailer or break off. Also some dead trees nearby which is also a threat. Entire campground needs some TLC to clean this up. Also would be nice to see B and C sections with water service. Some speed bumps have been installed since we were here last summer which is fine but they are not visible as were made with gravel and are camouflaged and sneak up on you. Overall a nice place to camp, just needs some better management.

Good campsite

Campground was good but we were concerned about the dead trees falling on our trailer, should a big wind come up. Also, the showers weren’t great as pushing the button in did not stay on long. Hopefully, with the new one being built will be on a timer as other Saskatchewan campgrounds have. Also, wish they gave you a code to enter a gate after you checked in. Would also like to see more full hook-up options. My husband enjoyed the golfing.

Nice campground

I enjoyed our short stay here. They have a new playground which was great. I found the bathrooms fairly clean although I didn’t look at the showers. I wasn’t very happy that wood was $20 a bundle and the wood burnt up fast so it didn’t last long. We also went into Rosthern to the pool which is a nice swimming pool. I would recommend it here.

It was okay

Aug 23, 2022by Anonymous
We got here and the girl working the gate said we only had to pay for one day pass even though we were there Fri-Sun. We arrived and set up but realized fire wood can only be purchased until 8pm and it was 7:45. My boyfriend went to the gate and the girl was already gone. We went back the next day and paid for another park pass because the other girl working said that wasn’t right. We also got wood which cost us $20 for not good quality wood and not enough wood, which was ridiculous. The bathrooms were usable but I was too afraid to use the showers because they were gross. They say they get cleaned 4 times throughout the day but the amount of bugs in there would suggest otherwise. Other than that, our spot was really nice and it was pretty quiet which we were hoping for. We probably wouldn’t come here again anytime soon.

Nice location but…

We’ve always liked this little place however the bathrooms/showers were filthy. We were tenting and had no choice but to use them. Very disappointing.

Disappointed

Jul 21, 2022by Anonymous
Rolled in after supper but no one at the gate. Found our way to an open site and booked online. Campsite was lovely, bathrooms were gross. Shower had lots of debris and hair, needs cobwebs removed- obviously not maintained regularly. Playground was certainly sketch but the older kids enjoyed the zip line. Will not visit again.

Needs some help

Campsite is clean and lots of room. Washroom need some love. They were never cleaned, some shower heads broken off, showers are push button but temp is good. Playground is super old and boarding on unsafe for kids to use. The red slide is slow and not that exciting. Not sure we will rebook.

Nice Place

Definitely would stay here again was quiet, washrooms clean and showers hot. The dump for sewer needs proper leveling though as I had to block opposite side to fully dump tanks.

Nice campground

Aug 10, 2021by Anonymous
Campsites are large, bathroom was reasonably clean. Too close to the highway...traffic seemed non-stop all nite. And the weeds (ragweed?) were everywhere in the bushes...which I turned out to be very allergic to! I booked two nites, and left after one.

Campsites are great - very large and well-maintained. Golf course was beautiful! The town has an outdoor swimming pool - great for the kids and a quick drive in!

Disappointed

Jul 11, 2021by Anonymous
I camped and golfed here a few years ago and enjoyed both very much even with the highway noise. This year the golf course was in fantastic shape. The same cannot be said for the campground facilities. I am mostly talking about the ladies washroom/ shower room. We were there for a week and the floors were never swept, let alone washed. We complained about the empty soap dispenser, dirty sinks, toilets and the neglected floors ..I even met personally with the park manager and he couldn’t see what the problem was which is why I ended up scrubbing the sinks myself so I could comfortably use them. The pandemic is not over and the poor upkeep of this public washroom was rather troubling. The camp kitchen in the middle of the campground was equally if not in a filthier state. Very disappointing as I liked this regional park and all the others I have used over the years in Saskatchewan. Very poor representation of hospitality for our province. We think can do better

Great Place

Great camp sites, great golf course, only negative is the dead standing trees around our site. We had a couple of windy days and had 2 trees fall down around our site, luckily they did not fall on our camper or vehicle. Wood bundles they sell are pretty small for $8.00.

Lovely Park

Beautiful campground, golf course is wonderful, the only thing was getting used to the noise from the highway as it is extremely close.

Beautiful Get-away

This campground was a beautiful get-away super close to Saskatoon. It was well kept and quiet. The service was friendly and the golf course was amazing. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing get-away. Five stars!

Valley Regional Park

We have been coming here for years. We have always been very satisfied with everything but this year we found the bathrooms weren't kept as clean as they should be. With all this Covid-19 going on we felt they should be serviced at least twice a day. The shower curtains are way too long and keep coming off the hooks. Otherwise, we are very happy with the park and the golf course too.

Very friendly staff and clean campsite
